Home Bar Pictures and Home Wine Storage

Home Bar Pictures showing a soft ivory bar room with built in the wall aquarium

The above picture shows home bar pictures of a soft ivory bar room with a built in the wall aquarium, heavily grained wooden bar black bar stools and plush carpet flooring.

This gallery of home bar pictures and home wine storage areas in a home are an aspect of home interiors that are not for everyone. You need to be a serious home entertainer to need a home bar area, nevertheless, there are still plenty of luxury homes that have either a separate bar area, often in their basement areas, or a wine storage cellar, where they can store anything from a few wines bottles through to hundreds of dozens of cellared wines carefully ageing and maturing in their bottles as time moves forward.

Having a home bar and/or a wine cellar in one’s home is a distinct luxury that many can only dream of, and in this gallery, we show off a number of examples of each. There may be a number of inspirational ideas here in this gallery for those planning on such a space in their homes, and if that’s the case, you should allow a lot of floor space in your area as there will be the need for serving space as well as a sink and washing area. In effect, you’re creating a mini kitchen when you build a bar in your home, just without the cooking facilities (most of the time).

The wine storage areas of you home are where its is consistently dark, and not subject to vibrations or other movement. The room needs to dry and of a consistent temperature in order to help maintain the wine at optimal maturing and cellaring potential. There of course electronic wine coolers these days, or cellaring units that can do the job of storing wine under the correct conditions. These are available in large bottle storage numbers, or much less for the avid home wine collector.

Music Practice Rooms and Home Music Studio Ideas

Above is an example of a luxury home with a beautiful and relaxing music room. Complete with stylish decor of plush grey carpet flooring, beautiful walls, an ornate fireplace, classic furniture and a beautiful grand piano to top it all off.

Having a dedicated room or a garage, or some other unused space in your home where you can allocate it as being music practice or rehearsal space brings out the most in a person’s creativity. Music Practice Rooms in a home are essential if you have children or are musically creative yourself. They allow a space for you to be creative with your music where you aren’t necessarily disturbing others in the family, or of they wish they can sit and relax and watch you recite your latest learnings or creative piece.

Home music studio ideas can be setup in practically any room of a home. Some like to dedicate a living room like area for a grand piano, where the ambiance of piano music can add to any evening. Others like to create a separate place, perhaps even line the walls of the room with sound proofing to minimize to loudness of the practice sessions. Particularly useful if you have an avid drummer in the family.

Garages are also one of the most practical spaces if there are groups of musicians who want to get together and be creative, or ‘jam’. There are many bands that started out in the family garage that went on the bigger and better things. So depending on what type of musical instrument you play or want to play, setting up a place in your home that is your ‘go to place’ for practice, rehearsing, or even recording and performing will be something that allows you to pursue your passion in an area that feels great and provides a free space to enhance your imaginative creative self.

Home Artist Studio Workshop

Artist's workshop showing easel and painting tools and brushesImage showing an artist’s workshop with an easel and painting tools and brushes.

An artist’s workshop or a studio is often a room in a basement or perhaps even an attic and then again there are artists that have a separate workshop in a cabin at the rear of their house. These spaces are fantastic in that they enable an artistic to be freely expressive with their thinking and the display of their artistic talents.

Whether your art consists of painting, craftwork, pottery, or sculpting, having a unique place at home where you can to think and create works wonders for an artist to create their end product results.

This gallery shows examples of (mainly) painting artist’s studios with their equipment and rooms on display

15 Fantastic Modern Conservatories and Sunroom Makeover Ideas

Modern Conservatories & Sunroom ideas. Balcony conservatory of a luxury home with relaxing chairs and a stunning beach outlookA gallery of modern conservatories & sunroom makeover ideas, with this beginning image showing a beautiful modern conservatory of a luxury home with relaxing cane wicker style chairs and sofa and an amazing stunning beach outlook below.

The dictionary term for Conservatory oddly enough describes it as being either;
  • A school giving instruction in one or more of the fine or dramatic arts; specifically, a school of music, or
  • A greenhouse, usually attached to a dwelling, for growing and displaying plants.

And yet, when we tend to think of Conservatories in our homes, most of us don’t often think of them as being places where we host school teaching classes, or give music lessons. Nor do we generally think of them as greenhouses within our homes. Sure there may be some folk who do use their Conservatories as places to grow their indoor potted plants, but rarely do you see a home owner with large displays of plants within their conservatory.

The idea these days for our modern Conservatories and Sunrooms is that they are an attachment, or an extension to our homes that provide a sheltered sitting and relaxing area that also often has glass, or windows on all sides and even on the ceilings which makes them often resemble a glasshouse attached to a home. When these rooms are exposed to large amounts of sunlight, they often get very hot inside, and hence it can often be desirable to provide additional covering, in the form of awnings, blinds or shade covers to enable the incoming sunlight and consequent heat build up to be controlled or at least kept to an acceptable level.

When looking for ideas for doing a sunroom makeover, or perhaps even adding a conservatory on to the end of your house, there are some important points to consider. For example as Anne Swithinbank, a celebrated member of the Gardeners’ Question Time team and author of The Conservatory Gardener, published in 1991 but still a standard work in its field today, suggests the following;

Lounge area in newly restored rebuilt house leading to timber conservatoryLounge area in newly restored rebuilt house leading to a lovely tiled floor timber conservatory with seating and pot plants.

“You really do need to work out, in advance, whether your conservatory is a way of extending your living space, or extending your garden. You have to think carefully and honestly about how you want it to work. Are the people to slot around the plants, or the plants to slot around the people?”

Contemporary modern luxurious conservatory design with seating and plantsThis is an evening shot of a contemporary modern luxurious conservatory design with seating and plants

Whatever your answer is to that question of who or what is the purpose of your intended Conservatory, Anne adds some other additional interesting ideas to think about when either doing a makeover or thinking of a new build add-on.

Aluminum conservatory with tables, chairs & furniture and door leading to gardenAluminum conservatory with tables, chairs & furniture and door leading to garden.

“Your answer will determine, first of all, what kind of flooring you are going to have. If your conservatory is primarily for plants, then carpets aren’t going to work; you’ll need a tiled floor, probably, perhaps with the odd drain.

Beautiful cantilevered stairway in an atrium conservatory with lots of plantsBeautiful cantilevered stairway in an atrium conservatory with lots of plants.

“At the same time, too, you’ve got to think about levels of ventilation. What suits you may not suit the plants. On the other side of the coin, if you build in too many opening windows and vents, you could be making your house vulnerable to burglars, especially when you’re away.”

Ornate conservatory interior with sofa, chairs, tables and a garden outlookOrnate well decorated conservatory interior with tiled floor, sofa, chairs, tables and a garden outlook.

Therefore, building a modern Conservatory is more complicated than most advertising will lead you to believe, and the temperature really is the biggest issue of all. The last thing you need is a room that becomes and unbearable, unusable sauna in the summer, and an equally unbearable fridge freezer during the winter.
