1. In our homes/offices we are breathing in the same air and are potentially inhaling harmful substances. Our indoor plants sometimes can help clean up these pollutants.

2. Plants believe it or not can improve the quality of your mental health by helping you to be responsible for a living thing hence giving you purpose when you may be depressed and lonely.

3. Plants have been shown to help people by up to 30% fight cold related illness due to their effect in reducing dust and increasing the humidity levels.

4. Plants also have the amazing ability to make you happy. Studies have shown that when patients are in hospital if there rooms face a garden view they seem to make better progress than those that face a wall.

5. Plants have been known to reduce your blood pressure. If you have plants around you, you are generally less stressed hence the lower blood pressure.

6. Some plants can be of use directly for medicinal purposes like the aloe plant; this can be applied to the skin which can offer pain relief.

7. If you have a smoker in the house get a few Peace Lily’s as they can remove some of the
airborne chemicals from cigarettes. Of course it would be better to ban smoking in your house as the first option.

8. The eucalyptus plant is fantastic for helping to clear congestion.

9. Plants are also natural humidifiers so bring in a few plants to soften the air instead of a humidifier.

10. Having problems sleeping, well if you get some Gebera Daisies in your room these beauties give off oxygen at night and this could provide you with a more restful sleep.
